RC Design completed the 2011 Pavement Condition Rating Service for the City of Prince George.  As part of the continued efforts to replace, restore and repair the road segments within the City limits.  RC Design assessed 360 km of paved lanes and local roads, equivalent to 2125 segments. The City of Prince George has completed this survey multiple times since the start in 2001.

A visual representation of the current pavement condition is recorded.  The assessment rates the severity and density of nine different distresses. These results are collected for collector, arterial, local roads and paved lanes separated by road segments.  The data is then calculated by the City and presented on a public database PG Map.

RC Design continues to provide consistent and accurate information that helps identify the priorities for maintenance and the distresses that require immediate attention.  I love Prince George, and the challenge of Northern Driving.  I enjoy working to improve our roads and maintain this valuable rating system.

The pothole is a very familiar pavement distress, this unique heart shaped one was found  on Purdue Road.
